Summer in the Garden

What you need to know for your garden and plants for summer and preparing for fall!

Summer is upon us with consistent afternoon showers, high heat and humidity. It's our bad weather season as everyone hunkers down and waits for a break in the heat!

The idea for the rest of summer is to finish out what is planted, continue maintenance and prepare for fall.

Heading #1: Not the time to fertilize

Heading #2: Prepare for fall

Heading #3: Let it rest

Heading #1: Not the time to fertilize

With consistent rains, extreme heat and humidity it is best to hold off on fertilizing anything until fall where you can selectively fertilize as needed.

Heading #2: Prepare for fall

Cut back plants hard, add mulch and soil amendments, plants seeds indoors in preparation for fall!

Heading #3: Let it Rest

This is a great time to let the plants rest, they are very shocked in the heat! Plant seeds, stay on top of weeds, cut back hard and pray for cool weather!
